ECHS Football Family,
Our young men played well at our first scrimmage! This is going to be great season to watch our team grow and learn to “Play as One!” As with many “growth opportunities,” it requires patience. This weeks Wooden focus is “Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” Many of you are striving to be the best that you can be, and I am so proud of that. But often when we strive to be the best we are capable of becoming, we make mistakes. Learning how to play football and to be able to execute your assignments can be an up and down experience just like in life. As you watch Hudl and our scrimmage/practice this week you will see things you did well that deserve praise... so enjoy those and rejoice. You will also see things you do not do well… things that need some polishing. Don’t run away from the polishing because once you walked through it and lived through the friction something great will shine in you and through you and may the light that shines in you always be brighter than the light that shines on you.
Good things take time… be patient, our obstacles are often our opportunities that leads us to success!

“Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. Before success comes patience… When we add to our accomplishments the element of hard work over a long period of time, we place a far greater value on the outcome. When we are patient, we'll have a greater appreciation of our success.”
- John Wooden
